Real Weekly Encouragement
Week of November 14-21, 2010

Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

You better believe it

Instead of walking around as though your world has just ended, why not walk like it has just begun? Life has a funny way of throwing everyone curve balls but don’t allow those curve balls to get you out of the game. Think of them only as an opportunity to put God’s Word to work for you.

Whenever you feel unaccepted, unwanted and unloved, the bible encourages you to pray.
Whenever you feel misused, misunderstood, and mistreated, the bible encourages you to pray.
Whenever you feel a lack of peace, happiness, and fulfillment, the bible says to pray. But not only pray, when you couple your prayer life with faith in God’s Word, you are guaranteed to get everything you ask for.

Mark 11:24 says to ask in prayer and believe that you have already received the answered blessing because it will be yours. So my friend don’t walk around as though life is over, walk like everyday is a new beginning in God.

You Better Believe that it is!

Week October 11-17, 2010

John 10:10

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Live your Life

There are so many things in life that will try to hinder you from reaching your potential. Things that will distort your vision for the future. We must recognize this is only a simple plan of the enemy to rob, kill and destroy what God has already predestined for your life. Is it difficult at times? Yes. But this is not a ticket to give up. The promise of God is far greater than the threat of the enemy.

God has promised to give us life and life more abundantly. Why sit on the side line and allow things to happen? Why sit on the sideline of life and allow the enemy to take every good and perfect gift God has for you? Live your life. God has promised to give it to you and give it more abundantly. It's worth fighting for!

Live your Life!

Week of September 28-October 3, 2010

Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid,
       I will trust in you

Trust in the Lord

It's easy to loose hope when things around you seem to be falling apart. It's easy to say I'm throwing in the towel and walking away when your life seems contrary to the Word of God. Every promise you read, every prayer you pray seem to fall on deaf ear but let me encourage you; TRUST IN THE LORD.

The enemy would have us  turn our back and walk away. However, we must remember our walk with God is bigger than us. It's bigger than our own frustrations, dilemmas, and pain. Our walk with God is a reflection on the Kingdom of God itself. Therefore, it's not about us, it's about KINGDOM.

When your life seems to be in shambles and nothing seems to make sense; TRUST GOD!
When people talk about you, misunderstand you, treat you ill; TRUST GOD!
When money is low, bills are due and despair creeps in; TRUST GOD!
When relationships are rocky and loneliness appears; TRUST GOD!
Just maybe He's about to impact the Kingdom through you.

Nothing is too hard for God, if you trust Him. Put your faith in God, trust Him with your entire life, and watch all things work together for the good. TRUST GOD!

Week of September 20-27, 2010

Genesis 37:9 (NIV)
And he dreamed yet another dream,...

Keep Dreamin'

Some think that as time pass we get too old to dream. We often think that life should be as it appears. That where we are, we are destined to stay there. Yet, God instructs us to dream, to have Vision.

Without dreams we will never propel into the realm of God's divine love, care, and provision for our life. The bible says that Joseph "dreamed yet another dream...." People of God it's time to dream again. It's time to start dreaming the impossible. Dreaming the unthinkable.

When God gives you a dream, don't sit on it. Write it down (Hab. 2:2). Don't ever give up on your dream. Don't allow time, circumstances, or past failure to hinder you from reaching what God has placed inside of you. A goal; A Vision. It's never too late. Keep Dreaming!

Week of September 13-19, 2010

Romans 4:18 (KJV)
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Faith it Out

Has God made a promise to you? Do you feel as though that promise is far away? Often when God speaks to us, gives us a dream, or a vision for our life everything in front of us looks contrary to the Word. It seems impossible. The same was happening with Abraham. God spoke to Abraham concerning his future. God promised him a son. Yet at the ripe age of 100 and his wife, Sarah at 99, the promise seemed impossible. But, Abraham continued to believe God.

The bible said that Abraham did not stagger at the promise through unbelief but gave God glory. He knew that if God said it, it would surely happen. He just had to faith it out.

The promise of God came to pass in Abraham's life. He and his wife Sarah became parents at an impossible age. You too can recieve the promises of God, if you act like Abraham: Just Faith it Out!

What's impossible to man, is possible with God!!!

Week of September 6-12, 2010

1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Give it to Jesus!

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

What a powerful hymn! What encouraging words! When we learn how powerful and liberating 1 Peter 5:7 is, we will sing the lyrics of this song with a new joy and hope.

God instructs us to cast all of our anxieties, worries, and problems on Him. He promises to care for us.  In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus questioned His disciples, "Why worry about tomorrow? Why worry about what you will eat or drink?" (Matthew 6:25) If we know that God takes care of the birds of the air and the flowers of the field, why wouldn't He take care of us? We are His children!

Whatever issue is presenting itself to you today, give it God. He wants you to trust Him with it. And while you are casting it all on Him, Praise Him for how He's going to work it out for your good! Give it to Jesus TODAY!

Week of August 23-30, 2010

Genesis 25:21 (NIV)
Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

Making Intercession

It is so easy to whisper a pray for ourselves. It is easy to entreat God for the things that we desire in a personal way. However, how often do we pray for the needs of others? If we take a moment to glance at the things that are happening around us we will quickly come to the conclusion that we are not the only ones in need.

God gives us opportunity to pray for each other. Isaac saw and felt the discouragement of his wife Rebekah. She wanted to have a child but was unable. The bible says that Isaac prayed to God on her behalf. He was moved with compassion after seeing Rebekah's desperation. How often do you go to God on the behalf of your brother or sister that stands in need?

As a believer in God we should always pray for those around us and in the world. After Isaac prayed, the Lord answered his prayer and his wife became pregnant.Do you know someone who needs a miracle, a special prayer, a door opened in their lives? Pray. You may be someone's "Isaac" today.

Week of August 2-9, 2010

Genesis 19:17
When they were safely out of the city, one of the angels ordered, “Run for your lives! And don’t look back or stop anywhere in the valley! Escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away!”

Don't look Back

Many of the dangers and heartache we incur in this life is because we often want to look back in time with an eye of wonder.

"I wonder what would have happened if I..."
"I wonder where they are right now"
"I wonder what I would be doing if I were still there"
I don't know what fascinates us with what was but I encourage you to look at what lies ahead.

When God delivered Lot and his family out of the evilness of Sodom, He gave them specific instructions, "Don't look back." Often when we allow our minds to drift back, our bodies eventually  follow. Thoughts lead to action. It is not God's desire to deliver us and bring us safely to the place of purpose for us to go back.

When God delivers us out of a situation, we can't look back as if we miss it. We can not wonder what if. We must rejoice at what God has prepared for our future.

Keep your eyes focused on what is in front of you. I guarantee that what's ahead is a hundred times better than what's behind.

Don't look back!

Week of July 26-Aug. 1, 2010

Hebrews 11:1
“[By Faith] Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Right Now

Faith is the key that unlocks every door, every prayer, every answer to every thing we seek in life. Often we ask God to bless us, help us, deliver us and show us things we can't see but we neglect to couple our asking with faith. Faith is essential. It is not an option.  Without faith we can not please God.

The bible declares that when we pray, we must do so in faith. That means that although we can not see it (blessing) we know and trust that God is working everything out for our good.

If you want a miracle, if you are believing in the impossible, ask in FAITH. That powerful Right NOW Faith and watch God manifest His divine power and love in your life, Right Now!!! Activate your FAITH TODAY and watch God work a MIRACLE.

Week of July 19-July 26, 2010

Hebrews 11:8

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.

Only by Faith

All of us have purpose. God created us that way. In His own timing He begins to fabricate our walk to reflect  and fulfill His call. His purpose. Our response to God should be that of Abraham; Go. However, in all reality it gets tough sometimes to believe in what you can't see. It gets difficult when the odds seem so stacked against you. But that is whats so awesome about God, He uses our difficulties to show Himself faithful to us.

As believers we are called to walk, not see. "For we walk by Faith and not by sight (2 Corin. 5:7)." If God has promised you something great, if He has given you a task which seems insuremountable, don't fret. Keep walking. Don't give up. Only by faith you shall recieve everything God has for you.

Week of July 12-July18, 2010

Hebrews 13:2

Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!

You just don't know

How many times have we been caught up in our everyday lives that we neglect the things and the people around us? Many of us pray for help, answers and directions to the things that may be going on in our lives, yet we miss the blessings that God has already provided by someone who's standing right next to us. We rarely see the solutions to our problems in the small stuff and we certainly miss the opportunity to bless someone else because of all of our distractions.

The simple things in life can often make the difference between life and death, blessing and cursing. The bible instructs us not to forget to show hospitality (a smile, a nod of the head, a simple hello) to even strangers. You just don't know. God may have sent them to bless your life!

Week of July 6-July 11, 2010

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Just ask

Many of us are living in the land of lack when God wants us to experience the Promise of Provision. We often walk around worried about things we can't change, fix, or control, yet we allow them to alter our very being. Whether it's an overdue bill, a sick loved one, an unruly child, or a failing relationship, we allow the enemy of our emotions to rob us of what God promised.

The bible is clear and very to the point when it comes to the things of this world. It instructs us not to be anxious; not to worry about anything, but in everything we should pray and petition God. We are instructed to  ask Him for what we need, want, and desire and while we are engaging in asking Him for those things,we should thank Him at the same time. Thank Him for supplying our needs. Thank Him for healing the sick. Thank Him for restoring our relationships.

God knows what we have need of.  He's just waiting for us to ask.

Week of June 28-July 5, 2010

Philippians 1:6

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

Work in Progress

Never allow your current situation to determine your future outcome. Often when life throws us a curve ball we think the worst. We think it's the end. Many resort to saying, "this is just the way it's going to be." The devil is a liar. God has the final say in everything that occurs in your life.

Rest assured that He who began a good work in you will complete it. The tests and trials that come along with everyday life is only to grow you, mature you, and to get you to your promised Destination.

He has begun a work. A great work. Let Him finish it. Don't throw in the towel. Depend on Him. He will never let you down! It's not the end.

You are a GREAT work in Progress!

Week of June 21-27, 2010

Joshua 1:9
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Be Strong

Joshua was experiencing a period grief, when God gave him the charge of leading the people of Israel to the Promise Land. I could imagine how terrified Joshua must have felt. The person that was in charge so many years  leading, guiding, and directing God's people was no longer around. The task was now in the hands of Joshua. He had some mighty big shoes to fill. He admired Moses and respected his leadership but now God was putting the responsibility in his hands. The people were depending on Joshua  and God was ready to use him in a mighty way.

If you've ever felt overwhelmed at a task, just ask yourself "has God called me to do this?" "is this of God?" If you answer yes, BE STRONG! God encourages us to be Be Strong and Courageous. He will never take you to a place where His presence is absent. If God has called you, rest assured He will be with you!

Week of June 14-20, 2010
Mark 9:23
"Everything is possible for him who believes."

Just Believe

We can get easily sidetracked in life. The economy, our families, our friends, even our personal demons have a way of drawing our attention off of what matters most. We allow anything and everything dictate to us how we should live, act, and react in life. Often, its negative and ends in hopelessness. Yet, the Word of God is simple. If we want to be what God has created us to be, if we want to recieve His promises for our lives, for our children, for our future, we must believe!

Believe that you can do all things through Him that strengthens you.
Believe that you are more than a conqueror.
Believe that no good thing will He withhold from you.
Believe that He has a plan for your life.
Believe that you are lender and not a borrower.
Believe that you are healed.
Believe that you are above only and not beneath.
Believe that He came that you might have life more abundantly.
Believe! Everything is possible for him/her who BELIEVES!!!!

Week of June 7-13, 2010
Psalm 27:13-14
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Wait Patiently

Often we become frustrated at life because we think it's not moving the way it should, when it should, and how it should. We get in a lot of trouble because we want things at the drop of hat, at our fingertips and available at the drop of a dime. However, God does not operate in the realm of time as we do. His timing isperfect.

The psalmist declared he almost lost everything. He almost gave up and moved on, but one thing kept him standing, his belief. Based on what God had already done, the psalmist quickly came to his senses and realized that God was still in control and that He still blesses, right on time.

When you come to a place in life where you think it's over, the fat lady has sung and left the building, just remember, if God did it once He will do it again. Give Him time. Let God operate in His own timing concerning your situation. He knows what's best for you. Just wait on Him. He has all the intricate details of your life already mapped out. Trust Him and be of good courage!

Week of June 1-6, 2010
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

It's all good

Life is unpredictable. No matter how much we think we have it all figured out, no one knows everything. We can not predict every event in life.  We can not avoid certain things that may come our way. However, we must remember that God is Sovereign. HE is in control. We must allow Him to direct us, guide us and lead us through life. When we give up the driver seat and allow God to steer the wheel, then and only then can we declare, "It's all Good" because HE is navigating our paths!

Week of May 24-31, 2010
Psalm 37:4
 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Never Settle

The bible is clear and profound. It is the encouragement and promise we need in life. Too often we give up, give in, and give out too quickly. We often say "it is, what it is." I believe that's a line created from the enemy to trick us into believeing that nothing good will ever come out of a situation. Nothing is ever what it appears to be. Romans 8:28 declares that "all things work together for good, to those that love the Lord."

No matter what you are facing. No matter how dim the situation seem. God is working it out for your good. We are instructed by the Psalmist todelight in the Lord. Follow, trust, and obey Him and HeWILL give us the desires of our heart. Never settle for what appears. Have faith inGod. Depend on His promises. He will give you that very thing you have been desiring.Don't Settle for less!

Week of May 17-23, 2010

2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Move in Faith not Fear
F-alse
E-vidence
A-ppearing
R-eal

God did not create us to live in fear. He did not call us to be afraid. He has given us power, love, and a sound mind to know the difference.

If God is calling you to a greater work, don't be afraid. Many of us stay where we are in life because we are afraid of the unknown. We immobilize ourselves right out of God's blessings.

Remember, successful people are successful because they are not afraid to try. In your attempts to reach greater things, greater levels, and greater promises you must move in Faith and not fear.

Faith and Fear can not shake hands.~Dr. James E. King, Pastor

Week of May 10-16, 2010

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Make me Smile

God has a way of making us smile. His Word is so powerful that it can and will turn every wrong thing completely around . All we need to do is trust Him. He promises to give us hope and a future.

You may not know what the end result will be but He does. He has a plan for everyone of His children. Those that call on Him, He plans to propser them and not bring them harm.

What do you have to loose? Too much time and energy have already been wasted. Declare this week, that you will walk in the counsel of the Lord.  He knows the plan for your life. Trust Him and watch Him make you smile.

Week of May 4~10, 2010

Matthew 19:26 (KJV)
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things arepossible.

Anything is Possible

Don't allow anyone or any circumstance dictate your future. If God has placed adream in your heart, Hewill bring it to pass.

Sometimes we get caught up in what our eyes see. However, as believers, we must look beyond our limititions and know that we serve a God that operates in the impossibilities. The impossibility of your finances, your education, your environment~God is able. All He wants you to do is trust Him and move forward.

Remember He never calls you to a task without providing the resources. Depend on Him and He will bring it to pass.

With man, it may be impossible, but with God all things are possible!

WEEK of April 26~May 3 2010

Philippians 3:13(NLT)
No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,

Moving Foward

Too many of us are living in the past. When will we ever realize that we can not do anything to change what has happened? There's no magic potion, no special formula or time machine  that will transport us "way back when" to correct the things we wish we could change. It's over. Done. Move on.

Although we may not have reached our goals yet, we should not allow our past to stop us from moving into our future. Paul encourages us to forget the past and look forward to what lies ahead of us.

If we are always looking back, we will never see the promise.

Remember~You can't look back and move forward at the same time.
